Former President Barack Obama slammed President Donald Trump this week for promoting unproven links between Tylenol and autism in children.
In a video shared to social media on Thursday, Obama blasted his successor for making “broad claims” around the use of Tylenol in pregnancy and autism rates in children. Trump urged pregnant women in a press conference on Monday to avoid taking Tylenol, the name-brand drug for acetaminophen , unless absolutely necessary.
Obama said these remarks undermine public health.
“The spectacle of my successor in the Oval Office making broad claims around certain drugs and autism that have been continuously disproved, and the degree to which that undermines public health, the degree to which that can do harm to women who are pregnant, the degree to wh
