Firefighters Thursday put out a blaze in Baldwin Hills area home where the first arriving crews arrived to find flames tearing through two rooms of the one-story residence.
The fire was reported just after 10 a.m. Thursday at a single-family residence in the 4000 block of Punta Alta Drive, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
Thirty-six firefighters battled heavy flames and had the fire out in 27 minutes, confining the burn damage to two rooms in the home, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
One person was being evaluated at the scene for possibly injury, but details were not immediately available.
“Despite the close proximity of the adjacent structures, firefighters prevented the fire from extending,” Stewart said.
