BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A widespread 911 outage is impacting much of Louisiana on Thursday, with several parishes reporting that emergency calls cannot get through.

The Desoto Parish Sheriff’s Office says the outage is due to a “major fiber cut.” In Pointe Coupee Parish, official linked the outage to a “technical issue with AT&T.”

Officials have provided alternate numbers for emergencies in the following parishes:
