The 11-5A volleyball race took on an entirely different outlook on Tuesday, as Independence shook up the playoff race and the battle for the district championship as it pulled off a 25-23, 25-18, 14-25, 15-25, 15-12 upset of Liberty, who entered the night as the No. 1 team in the Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 5A state poll.

The Redhawks had their usual share of standout performances, led by Jaiden Harris, who tallied 27 kills, 16 digs and a pair of blocks.
