The driver of a vehicle who died in a collision in Carolina Beach on Sept. 24 passed away at the scene, according to the Carolina Beach Police Department.
The single-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Dow Road and Rocky Mount Avenue, said Sgt. Colby Edens.
Edens said the police call came in before 11 a.m. As a result of the collision, some people lost power, he said. Dow Road was closed between Harper Avenue and Cape Fear Boulevard until about 5:30 p.m. while Duke Energy worked on the scene to restore power, police said.
Police did not release the name of the deceased driver.
No other injuries were reported.
