LEXINGTON, Ky. — It was a clean sweep for the University of Kentucky against South Carolina Wednesday.

It was the first time since 2021 that the Cats opened Southeastern Conference play with a 3-0 (25-17, 29-27, 25-18) win.

Brooklyn DeLeye led all players for Kentucky with 14 kills and .522 in the match. She also had a season-high 16 digs. It was her third double-double of the season. Eva Hudson had 13 kills and eight digs on the night.

UK as a team hit .340 for the night with a 94% sideout rate in the first set. The Wildcats only had 11 hitting errors compared to 24 for the Gamecocks. UK outblocked USC nine to six.

South Carolina’s first year coach, Sarah Rumely Noble, was a two-time All-American setter for UK.
