BATON ROUGE, La. -- The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission will host the “1 Million Steps 2 Safety” certified 5K run/walk on Oct. 25 at the Louisiana State Police Headquarters in Baton Rouge.

The event is designed to bring all road users together to celebrate Pedestrian Safety Month. Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sid Edwards is slated to welcome guests at this year’s event.

“Every step we take together sends a clear message: Pedestrian safety matters,” Edwards said. “‘1 Million Steps 2 Safety’ is about working as a team to make our streets safer, raise awareness, and protect our neighbors. I’m proud to join this effort and invite everyone in Baton Rouge to lace up and be part of the solution.”
