SHREVEPORT, La. — This week is National Child Passenger Safety Week, and Louisiana State Police are teaming up with the Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force to remind parents how important it is to make sure children are properly secured in the car.
To help, Troop G and local partners are hosting a free child safety seat check Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport, St. Mary Medical Center.
KTBS 3’s Jan Elkins spoke with Troop G's Emily Dean, who stressed why events like this matter.
At the event, certified technicians will be on hand to check seats, ensure they’re the correct size for the child, and teach caregivers how to properly install them.
