KENT COUNTY, MI – Kent County has acquired several foreclosed properties for future county use.
The Kent County Board of Commissioners voted Thursday, Sept. 25, to accept the three parcels of land, which were acquired by the Kent County Treasurer’s Office for failure to pay property taxes.
One of the properties will be used for future public safety communications use, and the other will be used for trail completion.
The first foreclosed property is a vacant 3-acre parcel at 3890 Fulton St. SE in Grand Rapids Township, according to a memo presented to the commission Thursday.
The county is interested in the parcel because it contains a cell tower that the sheriff’s office intends to add an antenna to for public safety communications, said County Administrator Al Vanderberg.
