Allen Park — Jack Campbell initially thought he'd bitten his tongue.

But after getting treatment on the sideline and feeling members of the Detroit Lions training staff "pushing the skin together," Campbell knew the wound to his upper lip was more significant than he originally thought.

Campbell, who played through the injury without missing a snap, was inadvertently kicked in the face by teammate Brian Branch early in the third quarter of Monday's win against the Baltimore Ravens . Trainers first glued the gash, giving the issue a temporary fix until it could be properly addressed after the game. Campbell has since seen a specialist who gave him, "if I had to guess, like eight or nine" stitches.
