Robert Kraft is selling the New England Patriots.

According to Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal, Kraft has agreed to sell an 8% stake in the Patriots to billionaire Dean Metropoulos and private equity firm Sixth Street Partners at around a $9 billion valuation.

The money the team will receive will stay on the Patriots’ balance sheet, which means the Patriots’ post-money valuation is greater than $9 billion.

In his report, Fischer added: “Sources said the Krafts are not taking money off the table, and will hold the proceeds on the balance sheet for future opportunities. Kraft has no intention of relinquishing control of the team.”
