A city working group met for the first time Monday to consider the merits of a request to change the name of Ryerson Park in Owen Sound.
The city removed the Ryerson Park sign in 2021, after receiving a petition signed by nearly 1,000 people to rename it. At that time, the discovery of what was believed to be children’s graves at a Kamloops, B.C., former residential school site shocked the country.
