DINWIDDIE, Va. (WWBT) - One person is now in custody after making threats to a Virginia delegate on Thursday.
State Delegate Kim Taylor received a politically motivated death threat over text to her campaign, Taylor’s spokesperson, Jacklyn Washington, said in a statement.
Taylor’s team says they take every threat seriously, so the Dinwiddie Sheriff’s Department was immediately contacted.
Law enforcement partners then quickly arrested the person responsible, who is now in custody.
“Deletate Taylor is safe and doing well. She is grateful for the decisive action of law enforcement and remains focused on serving her constituents. No threat will distract her from the work she was elected to do,” her spokesperson, Jacklyn Washington, said in a statement.
