The DeWitt high school football program is rolling, a 38-28 road victory over Galloway Westland (Ohio) on Sept. 19 the latest win in its 4-0 start.

A big part of the success on both sides of the ball for the Panthers has been senior Jadon Bender. His performance in their latest win led to Bender being voted the LSJ's Boys High School Athlete of the Week.

Bender, primarily a cornerback on defense, shifted to safety to help with the passing attack of Galloway Westland, and that switch led to a key interception in the game. Bender also hauled in a 26-yard touchdown reception and returned an onside kick for 50 yards and a score with under 1:30 left to secure the win.
