Autumn is typically a busy season, with dozens of colorful options each week as the weather cools down and more people venture outdoors in the Amarillo and Canyon area and beyond. The first week of fall is bringing one of the busiest Saturdays of the season, with a full slate of annual events, meetings and festivals on the calendar. 24th annual Buddy Walk

At 10 a.m. Sept. 27, the Panhandle Down Syndrome Guild will host its 24th annual Buddy Walk fundraiser at Sam Houston Park. Those registering late to participate in the half-mile walk around the park can do so at the registration table at 9 a.m. Saturday.

This year's theme is "Hawaiian Paradise," and attendees will be dressed in Hawaiian attire and can learn how to rope a calf and ride a bul
