ROCHESTER, Minn. — Summer this year was a bit different at Rochester International Airport, with warmer and wetter conditions from June 20th to September 21st, when compared to the long-term normals.

The average temperature hit 69.2°F, making it the 29th warmest summer since 1887. That's 1.1°F above the usual 68.1°F. The high temps averaged cooler at 78.5°F, but the lows were 60°F, the second warmest on record.

Rain was more frequent, with 14.63 inches recorded, which is 2.63 inches above the average. It was the 22nd wettest summer, and rain fell on 38 days, with the wettest being August 9th when 3.06 inches fell through the day.
