EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility has provided another update on work being done on Riverside Drive.

Officials tell us their goal is to have some traffic restored on Riverside Drive around the end of October.

As we reported, all lanes of the road were closed in April at Chestnut Street after a massive sinkhole opened up two months prior.

That closure was forced by high river levels and water flowing under the road.

The previous update we received from utility officials was in August.

During that update, crews said sheet piling was installed around the site so they could start putting up support beams.
