Alex Bebeshko is the new Northeast region ORT America director, the organization announced on Sept. 18.

Bebeshko, who spent the last 11 years working in philanthropy at the United Jewish Appeal Federation of New York, has a deeply personal connection to Jewish communal life and his dedication to strengthening Jewish Life makes taking a leadership role at ORT America a sensible next step for his continued work in nonprofit management, community building and financial resource development, according to the announcement.

Bebeshko and his family immigrated to the United States from Ukraine in 2000, where they found a welcoming Jewish community and social services in South Brooklyn, N.Y.
