LOUISVILLE, Ky. — For the first time, every state in the country is taking part in “Save a Life Day,” distributing free Narcan, a life-saving drug that can reverse overdoses.
Jessica Ashby has planned this for months.
“We’re training people. We can actually show them how to stick it in someone’s nostril and then push the plunger,” said Ashby. “So, we can educate people on exactly how to administer Naloxone.”
After seeing Save a Life Day on social media last year, she organized 22 locations across Jefferson County to hand out free Narcan.
Her goal was to get 2,000 doses of Narcan into the hands of as many people in just one day.
