Peoria, IL (WMBD) -- Chris is out for the week, so Nathan and Molly sat down to talk fall.
This day in weather history brings us back to 1942 when Central Illinois saw the earliest measurable snowfall. Some areas saw 2 inches of snow on that Sept. 25.
After the break, we talked about the lack of any moisture across the area. While some spots saw an inch or two of rain, Peoria was not one of them. We're over two inches below average for the month of September.
The most rain we've seen this month at one time is 0.08 inches. We've also stayed on the pattern of warmer than average temperatures for most of the month. This has increased the drought, with many areas seeing moderate to severe drought. The rain we have seen didn't make a dent.
In case you forgot, fall started on Monday, Sept. 2
