A flood advisory was released by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 3:14 p.m. in effect until 6:15 p.m. for Rensselaer, Saratoga and Washington counties.
The weather service says, "Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected."
"Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent," explains the weather service. "Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles."
