KILLEEN, Texas (KXXV) — Venezuelan native David Vilorea left behind political turmoil and uncertainty in his native country to seek peace and opportunity in Central Texas. After facing government pressure in Valencia, he moved his family to the U.S., where they opened Haly’s Latin Food in Killeen.

He faced political pressure in Valencia, forcing him to leave Venezuela and come to Central Texas where opened Haly’s Latin Food in Killeen.

Vilorea and his family are grateful for the U.S., which gave them peace and the chance to start a business.

His biggest sacrifice: not knowing if he’ll see his parents again.
