A staff member of Niles High School has resigned after being placed on administrative leave while the district began an internal investigation into their conduct.
On Wednesday, Niles Community Schools sent a letter to parents saying it’s reviewing communications and other context related to the matter, but didn’t release details. Superintendent Adam Burtsfield said the district is committed to student and staff safety and emphasized the situation is being taken seriously.
On Thursday, the district announced the staff member has resigned. In another communication to parents, Burtsfield said the district will continue to take any steps necessary to uphold the safety and well-being of students and maintain the standards of professionalism and integrity expected of all district employees. He
