Residents across New Orleans had the chance to hear from City Council candidates about their plans to address energy as bills are going up and patience is running thin.

The cost of living is on the minds of voters across New Orleans, and as city council candidates lay out their plans, Nathalie Perozo said she's watching closely.

"Something that I did find hardening is accountability and transparency. I don't think that the average New Orleanian understands how the regulatory system works," Perozo said.

The New Orleans City Council regulates the electric and gas utilities operating in the city with the power to set rates and services.
