Jonah Schollaert knows what it’s like to play from behind in the WPIAL Class 2A individual golf championships.
This year, though, he’s the one everybody will be chasing.
Schollaert, a senior at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and the 2024 state runner-up, will be the last player off the tee on Tuesday when the second and final round of the 36-hole WPIAL Class 2A individual golf finals gets underway at Valley Brook Country Club.
“You have to think about it the same as anything,” Schollaert said. “I’ve been in the top three going in and I have to have that same game plan.”
Schollaert opened the tournament with a 2-under 69 at Hill Crest Country Club in Lower Burrell. He was the only player in the field to post a below-par round on the day.
