Starbucks announced Thursday plans to shutter hundreds of stores nationwide — with some in Portland slated to close as soon as this weekend.
The closures are part of a turnaround plan spearheaded by Starbucks chairman and CEO Brian Niccol, who was brought into the company last year to help give the Seattle coffee giant a needed boost. Starbucks will also lay off approximately 900 corporate roles as part of this effort.
