A 300+ page plan designed to guide the next 10 years of life in Bristol is not built in a day — the new comprehensive plan will be developed over the course of 2026 and implemented in 2027, but residents’ first opportunity to take part and share ideas will be on Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Maritime Center, 127 Thames St.

This is the first of 2 workshops to begin the process — the second will be held on Monday, Oct. 20, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., also at the Maritime Center.

The effort will be a big part of the Planning Department’s workload this upcoming year. “We’re asking for people to come and share your ideas about the future, community priorities, that sort of thing,” said Diane Williamson, director of Community Development.
