(NewsNation) — Former FBI Director James Comey was indicted Thursday for making a false statement and obstruction of justice as U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi posted a cryptic message on social media that “No one is above the law.”
Lindsey Halligan, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, said a federal grand jury returned an indictment with the charges, which are believed to be related to Comey's oral testimony before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee on Sept. 30, 2020, about potential collusion between Russia and the 2016 presidential campaign of Donald Trump.
