FAULKNER COUNTY, Ark. — Mt. Vernon-Enola Public Schools have increased campus security by adding a second school resource officer through a partnership with the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office.
The decision, approved by the school board in August, ensures the current SRO does not have to split time between the elementary and high school campuses.
This school year, the district has 506 students across the elementary and high school campuses. SRO Taylor Sullivan’s daily duties include walking students to class, checking that doors are locked, sitting in classrooms with students, and maintaining a visible presence throughout campus.
