WASHINGTON — We have an update to the statue controversy that has grabbed the attention of Washingtonians and tourists alike. The installation depicting President Trump and Jeffrey Epstein as "Best Friends Forever" has hit another roadblock.

The creators of the project, who are part of the group "Secret Handshake," say it was removed on Wednesday morning by US Park Police and the National Park Service.

They say they retrieved the statue, which had been broken, early Thursday morning. The group spent hours putting it back together. With a new permit issued, they were hoping to get it back on the National Mall.
