FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A recent study from the Better Business Bureau shows a sharp rise in a risky type of online gambling.
President and CEO of the Northern Indiana Better Business Bureau Jan Diaz stated that the study revealed an increase in what is known as “grey market gambling.”
That’s the term used when online gambling is in a grey area where it’s not necessarily illegal, but it’s not fully licensed.
Diaz said it can be dangerous to get involved with these types of setups because users are more likely to have their information stolen.
Warning signs to watch for are apps with no terms and conditions and app companies with headquarters overseas.
She also said that if there are terms and conditions, make sure to read everything carefully before providing personal information.
