BULLITT COUNTY, Ky. —
First responders in Bullitt County will soon be trained in several different types of specialty rescues.
The department hosted a trench rescue training with all six departments on Thursday. The county is also hosting several other trainings this year in rope rescue, confined spaces rescue, and swift water rescue.
Zoneton Fire Department Capt. Dustin Headley said all six departments realized they needed the specialty training to better respond to emergencies.
"For years, we've had to rely on [Louisville] Metro agencies to help us with a lot of specialized training, so the goal now is to be self-sufficient," said Headley.
