Someone in Massachusetts won $15 million playing the lottery — the second-largest prize to be claimed in the state so far this year — but the public may never know who.

The prize was from a winning “$15,000,000 Colossal Millions” ticket, and was the first prize to be claimed in the $30 game. There’s still two prizes remaining to be claimed as of Sept. 25.

The winner claimed their prize Tuesday through the DAO Trust of Milton, represented by trustee Matthew Marcus. The trustee opted to receive the prize for the winner in the form of a one-time payment of $9.75 million.

The winner plans to take a vacation and make some home improvements, Marcus said.

They bought their winning ticket at Lanphers Market, located at 240 Redemption Rock Trl. in Sterling. The store will receive a $50,000 bonu
