Man who suffered fatal injuries at Avon worksite identified

Authorities said Wednesday that the man who suffered fatal injuries Tuesday at a worksite in Avon was a 28-year-old resident of West Roxbury .

In a statement, Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey’s office identified the victim as David Morais.

“The incident occurred at Materia Millwork at 254 Bodwell St. where the victim was moving a stack of plywood at the time,“ prosecutors said.

Morais suffered a head injury during the incident, officials said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death remains under investigation.

Materia Millwork says on LinkedIn that it specializes in “cabinetry, furniture, millwork, cabinets, and woodwork.”
