CARR TOWNSHIP, Ind. —

A Sellersburg subdivision has been blocked off due to a gas leak.

Tri-township Fire & Rescue posted on social media that State Road 60 at Yorktown Boulevard has been shut down due to a major gas leak.

Fire officials said a third-party fiber-optics company is responsible for hitting the line while digging.

Officials say there is no access to the subdivision. There is no evacuation order for residents at this time.

Anyone traveling in that area is asked to avoid the area and seek alternative routes while CenterPoint Energy makes repairs.

That portion of the roadway is expected to be closed for a couple of hours.
