AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Leaders in Aiken are revising their approach to revive a tiny homes project and potentially pass it in Aiken, after the city council rejected it during the first reading.

Gary McGuire, Vice President of Aiken County, says the Arbor Ridge Transitional Housing Project has been in the works for years.

“We think it’s just great from every point of view. There’s no downside to it,” said McGuire.

The Arbor Ridge Transitional Project was proposed to address homelessness in Aiken.

The project has gone through months of back-and-forth discussions. Last week, the city council rejected their plan.

“It’s not over by far. We’re very excited to take our next step,” said McGuire.
