FRENCH LICK – Springs Valley recorded a three-set sweep of Bedford North Lawrence during girls high school volleyball action on Thursday night.

The Blackhawks (16-4 and ranked No.4 in Class A) posted a 25-21, 25-16, 25-16 triumph. The Stars slipped to 11-9.

“Springs Valley team has a very good setter with Maddie Carnes, and the Saliba sisters (Kinsey and Emmy) are very good on the outside,” BNL coach Aaron Wagoner said. “We needed more energy. The girls might be drained from the last few weeks. It’s been a pretty brutal schedule.”

Lily Mishler had 9 kills, Sammie Gratzer totaled 8 kills, Trinidy Bailey added 17 digs and Sara Williams finished with 13 digs for BNL.

The Stars will compete in the Trinity Lutheran Invitational on Saturday.
