GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The ECU Pirates opened AAC play at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium Thursday night, defeating the Army Black Knights 28-6.
The Pirates scored on their first three possessions to go up 21-0 in the first quarter.
Quarterback Kaitin Houser got the scoring started with a three-yard touchdown run on the opening drive.
On the next two possessions, Houser hit Anthony Smith for a 40-yard touchdown and Javontay Conner for a 20-yard score.
The Pirates weren’t as efficient in the second quarter. They couldn’t find the end zone, and they turned the ball over twice, once on an interception and then on a fumble. The score remained 21-0 at the half.
