Small businesses and nonprofits that lost money due to the closure of the White River Bridge are eligible for low-interest federal loans, the U.S. Small Business Administration has announced.
The Highway 410 bridge over the White River in Southeast King County has been closed since a semitruck struck and badly damaged it Aug. 18. It is expected to remain closed until November.
The Small Business Administration issued a disaster declaration in response to a request from Gov. Bob Ferguson on Sept. 12, the agency said in a news release.
The declaration allows eligible small businesses and nonprofit organizations to receive loans of up to $2 million with interest rates as low as 4% and terms of up to 30 years. Loan amounts and terms are based on each applicant’s financial condition.
