WASHINGTON, DC – Former FBI Director James Comey has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges tied to the disclosure of sensitive information and alleged efforts to mislead investigators, the Justice Department announced Thursday.
According to the indictment, Comey is accused of obstructing a congressional investigation in violation of 18 USC 1505. Prosecutors also allege that he made a false statement under 18 USC 1001 when he denied authorizing an FBI employee to serve as an anonymous source, a statement investigators say was untrue.
