Indian batsman Karun Nair has been omitted from the 15-man team for the two-Test series against the West Indies starting next month. Nair, a part of the recent Test matches against England, ended with a humble average of 25.62, aggregating 205 runs in the span of four matches. Though his overall figures did not impress, he was able to score a crucial half-century in the last Test at The Oval, which he feels was a vital contribution on his part.

Responding to the snub, Nair expressed his dismay and said that only the selectors know why they made the call. He also pointed to the worth of his knock at The Oval, implying that it was more significant than the statistics would suggest.
