Ben Pickell was so popular during the Frontenacs’ playoff run last spring, some Kingston fans began showing up to games in pickle costumes.
The Sarnia Sting hope he can be a really big dill, er, deal for them as well.
They acquired the over-age forward Thursday from the Frontenacs for a 10th-round pick in the 2029 Ontario Hockey League draft.
Pickell brings the positivity and “infectious work ethic” the Sting lost when Easton Wainwright left for Colgate University in the off-season, general manager Dylan Seca said.
