ST. CHARLES – The mayor of St. Charles is responding to a new effort to recall him from office.
The residents who are working to get the recall effort on the ballot are accusing Mayor Dan Borgmeyer of potential conflicts of interest and what they call a lack of transparency.
The residents behind the effort launched a website, and posted an affidavit outlining the allegations that pushed them to submit paperwork for a recall.
The mayor tells FOX 2 that while he supports their right to push for a recall, he feels their efforts are based on misconceptions and misinformation.
Meanwhile, one of the organizers behind the recall argues their claims are based in factual information, and said they intend to collect thousands of signatures in order to get the petition on next April’s ballot.
