BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - Work will soon be underway on a massive $14.5M project for the City of Bettendorf.

At the beginning of August, city council approved the plans to build the Gateway Pedestrian Bridge over Middle Road just south of Interstate 80, and the new I-80/Middle Road Interchange.

Work is set to begin on Monday.

Traffic will not be interrupted, but there will be construction crews and equipment moving and grading the earth in two areas, city leaders said. For the Gateway Bridge , crews will be working on the west side of Middle Road. For the I-80/Middle Road Interchange, crews will be working around the southeast corner of the interchange.
