SPRINGFIELD — City officials braved the rainy weather to unveil a new handicap-accessible fishing dock and other improvements to Alden Street Park Thursday.
The project, which was funded with a $250,000 grant from the Community Preservation Act, also includes a new accessible entrance and pathway, new picnic table and benches and an improved area for fishing. The ribbon was cut by Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Parks Director Thomas Ashe, City Councilor Tim Allen and other city officials.
