The murder of Dayna Isaac bore the devastating hallmarks of too many domestic violence killings.

At 28-years-old, she was killed inside her western Sydney apartment by an angry, jealous and manipulative man, furious because she did not want to be with him.

Paul Jason Sultana, 35, was found guilty on Friday of murdering Isaac, described by friends as an “amazing mother, “life of the party” and a “friend to everyone”.

But in dramatic scenes, Sultana stabbed himself in his left arm with a sharp object inside the courtroom after learning his fate.
