An NBN outage in the Goldfields-Esperance region is preventing people from making phone calls — including to triple-0 — from landline services.

Police said the outage is mainly impacting customers in Esperance and the surrounding suburbs of Bandy Creek, Castletown, Chadwick and West Beach.

“This may impact the ability to make phone calls, including emergency triple-0 calls from NBN landline services,” a police spokeswoman said.

Police communications are unaffected.

Residents without alternative mobile phone access are being advised to make arrangements with neighbours, family members or friends to ensure access to a phone in case of an emergency.
