A massive fire has torn through a paper storage facility, destroying seven cars and forcing evacuations.
The blaze erupted about 1.10pm on Friday at the Botany Rd site in Matraville, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, sending thick black smoke billowing into the sky.
Footage shows the factory engulfed in flames as nearby parked cars went up one by one.
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said strong winds were driving the blaze, sending smoke across a wide area of the city.
All workers from the business have been accounted for, FRNSW confirmed.
Nearby residents and businesses were evacuated, while police urged people to steer clear of the area and warned of dangerous smoke.
Motorists have also been urged to avoid the area, with traffic diversions in place.
