Please pass the proposed microchip for pets ordinance . If people don’t have $25 to get their pets chipped, they can’t afford to own a pet to begin with. I notice how rare it is for people to bother to license their pet. With the extra benefit of $25 extra, the owners would be getting their pet the bonus of a lifetime of licensing.This could also help to prove ownership because I read so much on a local forum about how many dogs are stolen out of people’s backyards.I may be harsh here but, again, if people can’t afford a dog or a cat, birds and fish make nice pets and they cost less to feed and don’t end up at LMAS (Louisville Metro Animal Services).Kentucky already has weak laws for breeders and puppy mills.
