Renovations have begun on the long-vacant former Cement Bank building in Northampton Borough , marking the start of a $1 million project that will transform the historic structure into a mixed-use development with apartments and commercial space.

Pennsylvania state Sen. Nick Miller announced the launch of renovations in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. The project will create 12 apartments on the upper two floors, including ADA-accessible units, along with 7,000 square feet of commercial space on the first floor.
